MISSING!

REWARD FOR HIS SAFE RETURN!

Abraxos (also known as Brax) is a 3-year-old Golden Conure who got spooked and flew out of our facility on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

He went missing from 23047 M-78, Battle Creek, Michigan.

The last place he was seen was between M-78 and M-66. Then he flew out over the bean field, south of the facility and into the neighboring woods, southwest of the facility.

We believe he’s somewhere close, but the last anyone heard his voice in the woods was on Friday, July 25.

Abraxos is one of my personal birds. He was visiting the rescue for our bi-annual low-cost vet clinic we host for our adoptive families, and got spooked and flew through a screen. He is microchipped, but that only helps us if he’s taken to a vet or shelter.

He is incredibly loved and missed by his family.

Thank you so much to the community and our neighbors for helping us find Brax!

Listen for his calls. Especially in the early morning at daybreak and in the evening at dusk.

IF YOU HEAR HIM, CALL US!

He has a very high-pitched yell, that repeats in a 3-call pattern.

View this video on Facebook to hear what it sounds like. This other bird is our other Golden Conure, Brax’s sister, Ellie, while we were out looking for him.

He also says “Birdie,” “Baby Birdie,” “Cutie Baby Birdie,” and “I JUST A BABY!” If you hear anything that doesn’t sound like it should be in your woods - it might be him! If you hear him or think you hear him, please call!

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE ABRAXOS

In the event you see him, he will probably be very excited to see a human.

He’s very sweet, usually. You can ask him to “step up” on to your finger by gently placing your finger or hand near him.

Take him directly inside, and call us at 517-898-1577 immediately. He may need vet care. Feeding him after no food for several days may put him in danger of refeeding syndrome, so he will need to be examined immediately.
