Carlos has TONS of personality, quite a vocabulary, and absolutely no commitment to using his indoor voice. He’s loud, hilarious, and very interested in having your attention.
He loves being talked to, fussed over, and included. He also loves having his tongue played with, which is a deeply weird thing to put in an adoption profile, but we believe in transparency.
Carlos is a Blue-and-Gold Macaw in his 30s who needs someone willing to pay attention to what he’s communicating. He can and will bite, especially if you push past his boundaries. Go slowly and give him time to trust you. Once that trust is there, he’s much calmer and more docile. Loving attention does not mean he’s issued everybody a tongue-touching permit.
His lower beak needs regular maintenance, and he has a history of feather picking and over-preening. His next home will need to keep up with his care, provide good food and enrichment, and love the bird in front of them.

How he got here
His previous caregiver needed to move and could no longer keep the birds. Carlos came to Birds and Beaks to find his next home.

- He is loud and needs daily attention, enrichment, appropriate food, and regular beak care.
- Parrots may choose a favorite person. Every household member needs to respect their space.
- Companion adoption only. No breeding. If it does not work out, birds must be returned to the rescue.
