Meet Vatu
Vatu is a 10-year-old male Vosmaeri Eclectus whose interests include food, looking for food, and determining whether you might have food.
Almonds? LOVES them.
He’s a sweet, laid-back bird who reliably steps up and seems comfortable with everyone he’s getting to know here. He’s always interested in a good snack. If you have one, he would like to discuss it.
His feathers are rough right now, but his eclectus-specific diet and individual attention are making a real difference, and we think there’s plenty of room for positive change.
His next home will need to keep up with his specialized diet and regular beak maintenance, while giving him time, attention, and the chance to show them who he is.
He’ll be checking for snacks when you get here.
How he got here
Vatu was rescued from a bad situation before coming to Birds and Beaks. His most recent caregiver had begun introducing a more appropriate diet, and we’re continuing that care while getting to know him as an individual.

They’re not great with kids or dogs, and they need to be where the family is (not in a segregated room away from everyone).
